I was first introduced to the world of translation and interpreting as a teenager. Long before the internet era, I would ride my bike across Bratislava, hand-delivering documents for my father’s translation agency.<\/p>\n

Starting out with simple project management, I eventually developed a comprehensive system for selecting and evaluating translators and secured our ISO quality certifications. My many years of hands-on industry experience ultimately culminated in the founding of Otago.<\/p>\n

I served three terms as President of the Association of Translation Companies of Slovakia and represented Slovakia in the European Union of Associations of Translation Companies (EUATC). Today, on a broader European level, I co-organize the annual Meet Central Europe conference.<\/p>\n

During my translation and interpreting studies, I took a course that simulated a real-world translation project. My role was to manage communication among the team members and ensure the translation was delivered on time. From that moment on, my path was clear\u2014I knew I wanted to join a translation agency right after graduation.<\/p>\n

Even years later, I still absolutely love managing projects (especially complex multilingual ones) and, above all, communicating with both our clients and translators.<\/p>\n

It was my love for books and language that first drew me to the world of translation and interpreting. However, early on in my university studies, I realized that working directly as a translator wasn’t quite the right fit for me. Everything clicked when I attended a guest lecture on project management within a translation agency\u2014and just like that, my future career path was set in stone. I absolutely love my role as a project manager, as it allows me to put all the theoretical knowledge and practical skills I gained during my studies to great use.<\/p>\n

I handle both certified and standard translation projects, as well as interpreting assignments. During my university years, I also spent four months on a work-and-study program in the United States. Thanks to that experience, I\u2019m thrilled to be able to actively use my English in daily communication with our international clients and partners.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
